Centurion Mine

In late 2022, Peabody initiated the redevelopment of the Centurion Mine, a premium hard-coking coal longwall operation in Australia.  The project is expected to reweight Peabody's long-term production and revenue toward metallurgical coal when the longwall production commences in 2026.

The project will utilize substantial existing infrastructure and equipment at the mine, including a new 300-meter longwall system, a coal handling preparation plant, a dedicated rail loop for transport to the Dalrymple Bay Coal Terminal and an accommodation village with housing and service amenities for more than 400 workers.
